Questions
What if I don't know someone's address?
Give us their town. We route you to the town centre and leave a line in the book to write the address in.
Is this official government advice?
No. Fallback is independent. The advice follows Public Safety Canada (Get Prepared), Health Canada, the Canadian Red Cross and Heart and Stroke guidance, and each source is named in the book.
Why on paper?
In a power outage or network outage, phones and map apps stop working. A book still opens.
How long does it take?
Your PDF arrives by email within a day, whichever edition you choose.
How do I print it?
On any home printer. It's a PDF, so you can print it as many times as you like, and print a fresh copy when something changes.
Can I give one as a present?
Yes. Tick "It's a gift" when you order, add their email and a note, and we send it straight to them.
What if my family live far away?
You get the driving route to them. Walking routes are only for people close enough to reach on foot in about 3 days (about 90 km). Further than that, the book gives you a plan to stay put and make contact.
What if someone moves?
Order a fresh book with the new details.
Where do you make books?
For homes in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Each country has its own page, with its own emergency numbers, maps and advice.
